What we do

At Izere Mubyeyi Organization, we envision a Rwanda where no child is left behind because of a disability. Every day, we open doors of opportunity for children and youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities empowering them to learn, grow, and thrive alongside their peers.

From our inclusive early childhood and primary education center to essential health care services including physiotherapy, occupational therapy and first-aid, we provide children with the tools and support they need to unlock their potential. We also stand beside families, equipping parents, caregivers, and teachers with knowledge, skills, and resilience through training, psychosocial support, and economic empowerment initiatives.

But our work does not stop at the family level. We engage communities, influence policymakers, and drive evidence-based advocacy to challenge stigma and transform mindsets because true inclusion requires a collective effort.

When you connect with us, you are not just supporting an organization—you are joining a movement. A movement that believes in dignity, equality, and opportunity for every child. Together, we can build a more inclusive society where abilities are celebrated, families are strengthened, and communities are transformed.

Explore our work. Be inspired by our impact. Partner with us to make inclusion a reality.

Impact stories

A life reclaimed: Nicole’s triumph from immobility to ability

Born unable to walk, speak, or eat, Nicole’s early years were filled with struggle as her parents searched tirelessly for help. At Izere Mubyeyi Organization, special needs and inclusive education, and therapy transformed her life. Today, at 11, she has completed P3 and is moving to P4, she walks, plays, speaks, cares for herself, and showcases her talents. She proves that children with disabilities can thrive when given the right support at the right time, and time is now to support many more children in Rwanda like Nicole.
