Izere Mubyeyi School is looking for two Teachers. WHO WE ARE:

IZERE MUBYEYI SCHOOL

Izere Mubyeyi School belongs to Izere Mubyeyi Organization “Nawe ni umwana”, “He is also a child”, “Lui aussi est un enfant”.

Izere Mubyeyi is a non-governmental organization founded in November 2004. It is legally recognized by the Government of Rwanda (Ministerial Decree no 39/11 of April 02, 2008) and registered by RGB since February 17, 2014.

Its office is located in Busanza, Bitare village, Karama cell, Kanombe Sector, Kicukiro District, Kigali City, RWANDA.

Vision: All forms of discrimination toward children and youth with Intellectual disability and learning difficulties in Rwanda are eradicated.

Mission: To improve the life conditions of children/young people with intellectual disability/learning difficulties in Kigali City.

Objectives:

1. Improve inclusive early childhood development education, special needs education, and social professional activities.
2. Build Successful partnerships with parents and other organizations.
3. Acquire and exchange experiences with other schools and organizations practicing inclusive education.

Job Descriptions: A Teacher

• Assess students’ skills and determine their educational needs.
  • Adapt general lessons to meet students’ needs.
  • Make sure that he/she implements curriculum well.
  • Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for each student.
  • Plan activities that are specific to each student’s abilities.
  • Teach and mentor students as a class, in small groups, and one-on-one.
  • Facilitating lessons in a manner that will be effective despite a student’s disability.
  • Providing support for students both academically and personally where necessary.
  • Respecting students and treating them with dignity in the learning environment.

• Preparing lessons in advance with the needs of learners in mind.
  • Promote effective communications and interpersonal relations among staff, parents, students and community members
  • Other duties as assigned by the board of Izere Mubyeyi organization

Preferred Qualifications:

• A2 Certificate in T TC or related field
• Has minimum 2 years of experience in special or inclusive schools
• Knowledge of written, spoken English, French and Kinyarwanda
• Good knowledge in word, excel and PowerPoint
