The Day Center provides special education to children with disabilities; especially intellectual disabilities and learning difficulties. In this special education, everyone has an individual special education plan.
Recently, the center has started a new program of Inclusive ECD. Children with disabilities are following courses together with those without disabilities from the age of 3 to 6 years. This is very fruitful for all children in socialization.
This year again, for the youth, Izere Mubyeyi has started a specific program for them. They are enrolled in a Vocational training program. The objective is to equip them with the skills they need to be competitive in the job market. With their skills, they will work, be salaried and could contribute to the financial solutions in their own families and will no longer be a kind of burden to the society. Izere Mubyeyi wants them to be economically integrated.
Inclusive Early Childhood Development (ECD)
This is a new component that has been introduced in our programs since the start of the first term of the 2021-2022 school year. The center counts today 32 students in Inclusive
ECD program from the baby class to the top class. The center has enrolled children with disabilities and learning difficulties and those without disabilities in this program.
Domestic activities and handcraft for youth with intellectual disabilities
This component is intended to support young people aged 18 and over with an intellectual disability who have been shown to be unable to adapt to ordinary primary and secondary school lessons. The center has decided to introduce these young people to the inclusive vocational trainings that can be of use to them in their daily life after school, so that they can be integrated into the society. They will learn them based on their talents.
Culture, Recreation, Sport and leisure activities
Among the sport and leisure activities organized for Izere Mubyeyi children, there are summer camps, Bocce, football, athletism. These activities help them to develop their senses of observation and feel well and plus, being integrated in the society.
