Trainings
Training sessions to the parents about the care giving to children with disability in their families are organized several times.Those kind of trainings aim to the acceptance of the disabilities that have their children and it is a way for them to be accepted too.They know that there are many families facing the same problems like them and they feel no fear or shame to be parents of those children.The change their mind and adopt new attitudes towards the children, but also towards themselves.
Izere Mubyeyi provides also trainings on the income generating activities to the groups of parents and encourages them to form cooperatives in order to be part of the government programs that aim to improve the life conditions of families living in poverty.
Training of parents and children in manual activities
- A training session of parents about the taking in charge children with disability in their families has been organized several times in order to give to the parents the occasion to agree and being patient to the handicap of their children and well taking care of them.
- The activity of the parents up to now is to produce the shopping baskets in stretch-back. With this activity they have idea of innovation and management of revenue generator activities
- Some parents and the children with a light mental disability have been trained to decorate places and things.

Teachers trainings at IZM center by Special Skills Consultancy
From the 5th September 2022, Special Skills Consultancy started teachers’ training on specialneeds education at the center which lasted three weeks. Teachers have shown significant interest,in these trainings through participation and the general feedback entailed that the future of special education at IZERE MUBYEYI is promising.

The teachers were equipped with adapted methodologies for special education using the
inclusive curriculum. These range from preparing materials for class, appropriate posture in
class, how to interact with students and adjusting at their level, how to structure a classroom, and
prepare an individual education plan (IEP) for students with learning disabilities. The sessions
were interactive with maximized engagement in exercises and experiential games. All of these
made possible by a trainer with expertise.

The end of the first week of training was marked by Lilian foundation visit. They had a tour of
the center and an opportunity to interact with the teachers during their training. Important
insights about special education and the challenges involved were shared and the guests
commanded the work done.
